Watercolor & Acrylic Workshops

Welcome to Larry Johnson's Watercolor & Acrylic Workshops web site.  This web site will show you some original artwork in watercolors, acrylics and oils.  About 60% of his paintings are done in watercolors and equal amounts done in acrylics or oils on canvas.  We will also show you a short painting demonstration in watercolors and another in acrylics.  In the future we will have a demo in oils as well.

Check the schedule of Larry's classes to see if he will be in your area.  Perhaps you and a  friend can  attend one of the workshops listed.  If not, contact us to schedule a 3 to 5-day workshop in watercolors or acrylics  for your art group.   We have fun and students learn a lot of new techniques that they can use while painting.  Private lessons available also.

As an artist always willing to learn, Larry usually takes one workshop a year from well known artists such as Tom Lynch, Tony Couch, Hugh Greer, Bridgette Austin, Ken Dewaard and others.  He's noticed that when a painting was demonstrated in the morning, that after lunch many artists had forgotten what had been done and were confused.  That's why Larry teaches a step-by step approach.  He'll paint a small portion of a painting, then the students will paint that portion immediately after.   The students learn and retain more of the techniques he teaches. Many times groups ask him to return for advanced classes the following  year.

We hope to see you soon in one of his workshops.  Enjoy the web site and be sure to contact us with any questions you may have regarding the schedules or the techniques that we use to accomplish the finished paintings.  You may see more of Larry's fine art originals and prints on his web site. www.larryjohnsonfineart.com.
